"Amazing location, beautiful place!"
"So useful being in a REAL chalet and relatable environment!"
"Massively important to do a course in a real chalet in a real ski resort."
"Cooking in a real chalet with a view of the mountains out of the kitchen window made me even more excited to start my season!"
For the duration of your course, you'll be living in the beautiful Chalets Bouquetin and Chamois, in the picturesque village of Plan Peisey, near Les Arcs ski resort. Both chalets sleep 11 people in twin, double and triple rooms. All rooms are en-suite and some have balconies.
Courses will be taught on location in the chalets. You'll be learning to cook in a real chalet kitchen with the kind of equipment you would expect to find in any catered chalet. Classes will also take place in the sitting room and dining room and, when the sun is shining, some theory classes might even be held on the balcony! After each day's training, the chalets are yours to relax in and enjoy, in the company of your fellow students.
Plan Peisey is in the stunning Vanoise National Park, at the centre of Europe's largest ski area. It's a small village, but with plenty to offer - there are shops and bars*, leisure activities aplenty and the village oozes Alpine charm. On your day or afternoon off, you will have the chance to try activities such as white water rafting, mountain biking, paragliding, or just head out for a walk and discover the National Park for yourself. Also on offer are swimming, french bowls, tennis, volleyball and free ping pong tables by the Tourist Office.
Our Tutors live in a third chalet which is right next door to the two student chalets - far enough for the students to have a bit of freedom in the evenings, but close enough to be on hand if needed.
* Please note that the resort shops, bars and restaurants are only open during July and August. In September, the closest shops are to be found at the bottom of the mountain, a 20 minute drive away.
