Please take the time to read carefully through our Terms and Conditions of Booking.  They are the basis of the contract between yourself and The Hive Cookery School Ltd.

A contract will exist between us when we have taken your booking and required payment. You will then automatically receive a confirmation/invoice detailing exactly what has been booked. If you think anything is incorrect please contact us straight away. All correspondence will be with the person named on the confirmation invoice who accepts the following conditions on behalf of all participants.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of £150 is required to secure your booking, this is payable immediately upon booking.

Final Balance

The balance of your payment is due 10 weeks before the course start date.  If payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to advise you of the cancellation of your course booking and make a cancellation charge at the appropriate rate. Full payment must accompany bookings made within 10 weeks of the course start date.

Booking Online

If you book online, you can choose to pay the full course fees up front, or just the deposit which will secure your place on whichever course you specify at the checkout.  When paying the deposit only, the final balance terms above become applicable to your booking.  If you book online within 10 weeks of the start date of your chosen course, we would ask that you select and pay for the full course fees.

Changes to your Booking

If, after you have confirmed your booking, you wish to make any alterations, an administration charge of £25 may be made per student.  Any such amendment should be telephoned to The Hive Cookery School in the first instance but must be confirmed in writing immediately thereafter.  However, if a major amendment is requested less than 4 weeks prior to the course start date, we reserve the right to treat your request as a cancellation.

Cancelling your Booking

If you find that you cannot take your place on the course booked and have to cancel, for whatever reason, your deposit will be forfeited to cover our costs.  We must receive written confirmation of your cancellation.  If we receive your written cancellation within 4 weeks of your course start date you will be required to cover the course fees in full unless you, or we, find an alternative booking.  We recommend that students take out their own insurance against cancellation for any reason outside their control.

Unexpected Course Changes

The Hive Cookery School will do its utmost to provide all of the arrangements that have been confirmed, but must reserve the right to alter or cancel any activities, accommodation or other arrangements, if operational, weather or other considerations so dictate.

If we have to make a major change to your course, we will offer a suitable alternative if available, or 100% refund, if we are not able, in our opinion, to offer an alternative that is sufficiently comparable.

Terminations

The Hive Cookery School reserves the right to terminate the training of any student without reimbursement of fees if they are guilty of unreasonable or improper conduct, or breach of the chalet rules.

If a student chooses to leave during a course they will not be eligible for reimbursement of fees.

Any student whose training is terminated, or who choses to terminate their training, will be responsible for arranging their own travel home, at their own expense.  Any terminated students will be given not more than 24 hours to vacate the chalet.

Health and Safety

The Hive Cookery School has a number of chalet rules which are enforced in the interests of students’ health and safety.  Excessive drinking and the use of illegal drugs are not permitted and, if students are thought to have been involved in these activities, their training will be terminated immediately.

Students are expected to report and, where appropriate, pay for any damage and breakages.

Property belonging to students is brought to the chalet at their own risk. The Hive Cookery School accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage.  Neither does the school accept liability for personal injury except as imposed by statute.

Photography & Videos

At times, The Hive Cookery School may take photographs and videos during courses and activities for future publication on the company's website and for marketing purposes.

If you do not wish to be photographed or videoed, please advise us at the time of booking.  By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you are granting The Hive Cookery School the right to use any photographs or videos and any reproductions or adaptations of the photographs/videos for all general purposes in relation to The Hive Cookery School's work including, without limitation, the right to use them in any publicity materials, books, newspapers and magazine articles whenever The Hive Cookery School chooses to do so.
